Watch House of the Dragon Season 2: Synopsis

The award-winningHouse of the Dragonis back, boldly charting the cataclysmic series of events known as the “Dance of the Dragons”. While its freshman outing was a slow burn, Season 2 clearly isn’t pulling any punches – as viewers discovered during the horrifying “Blood and Cheese” scene that concluded Sunday’s premiere. Psyched for moreGame of Thrones-style drama, duelling dragons, and spectacular battles? Then catch every episode with our guide below, which explains how to watchHouse of the DragonSeason 2online from anywhere.

*Warning: Season 2 spoilers ahead*

The schism between the Black and the Green councilsnow seems absolutely irreparable. Flying the Black flag for Rhaenyra’s claim (Emma D’Arcy) on the Iron Throne is her husband-uncle Prince Daemon (Matt Smith), and their Velaryon brothers-in-arms, including the seafaring Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint).

And on Team Green? The illegitimate King Aegon Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), his mother, Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), and the sociopathic Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), whose hulking dragon Vhagar shattered any hope of a peaceful reconciliation when it impetuously devoured Rhaenyra’s young son, Lucerys.

Prince Daemon realized the vengeful promise of premiere episode “A Son for a Son,” but with an ugly, stomach-turning twist. Unable to find and kill Prince Aemond, his hired brutes “Blood and Cheese” mercilessly dispatched King Aegon II’s son Jaehaerys instead. It’s a development certain to see Aegon hell-bent on war, and spurring the Green and Black councils on to greater acts of heinous violence. As well as the escalation of the Targaryen civil war, episode 2 is likely to find Daemon in hot water, alongside Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) given his disastrous dereliction of duty.

Reviews have been hugely positive, with Season 2 lauded as superior in every way to its acclaimed predecessor, anda third season ofHouse of the Dragon already green-lit.
